This culture medium does not contain any fermentable carbohydrates and has relatively little nutrient value so that these microorganisms can be cultivated selectively. Typical Composition (g/litre) Peptone from gelatin 7.5; peptone from casein 7.5; sodium chloride 5.0; agar-agar 15.0. Preparation Suspend 35 g/litre, autoclave (15 min at 121 °C). pH: 7.5 ± 0.2 at 25 °C. The plates are clear and yellowish.
